To the praise of the glory of his grace,wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. Ephesians 1:6

Herman Hoeksema
...He that glorieth , let him glory in the Lord. I Corinthians 1:31.
This is the second edition of this little volume on the subject of salvation by grace only. Originally this work was published in 1944 by the Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Company. Its chapters were first a series of radio messages. Only some rather minor editorial changes and a few changes in format have been made in this new edition.
As we send forth this reprint, we repeat the wish of the author in his preface to the first edition:
"May the God of our salvation so use the, contents of the following pages that they who know and confess the truth of sovereign grace may be comforted and strengthened, the doubtful and hesitant may be established, those who preach a Christ that is impotent to overcome the perverse will of the sinner may be ashamed and converted, and, above all, God Who is really GOD may be glorified!" -Herman Hoeksema

Immanuel PRC - Rev. Thomas Miersma
1 sought the Lord, and afterward I knew
He moved my soul to seek Him, seeking me;
It was not I that found, O Savior true;
No, I was found of Thee.
It was not I that found, O Savior true;
No, I was found of Thee, of Thee.
Thou didst reach forth Thy hand and mine enfold;
I walked and sank not on the storm-vexed sea;
'Twas not so much that I on Thee took hold,
As Thou, dear Lord, on me.
'Twas not so much that I on Thee took hold,
As Thou, dear Lord, on me, on me.
I find, I walk, I love; but O the whole
Of love is but my answer, Lord, to Thee!
For Thou wert long beforehand with my soul;
Always Thou lovedst me,
For Thou wert long beforehand with my soul;
Always, always, Thou lovedst me.
